Brooch, Broach, Pin or whatever you might call them, here they are!

I almost let November 21st slip by me. Where is time going? It seems to slip by faster every day. Une Femme d'un Certain Age has designated today as Show Us Your Brooches Day. I tried to pull out my prettier and older pieces. I have a lot that will most likely be considered vintage any day now as I have had many of them for years, but I didn't photograph them. I did inherit a couple of pieces from my great Aunt, but most of the others I have purchased over the past 30 or more years.

In getting them out to photograph them I noticed some of them were pretty dusty after being stored in drawers for so long. However, if I took time to clean them you all might never have seen them, so here they are "as is."  I think my favorites are the ones with orange toned stones. They seem to be the most dramatic.

I have quite a few vintage bracelets and necklaces that I have collected over the years and I will take pictures of those one of these days. I really need to do so just so I know what I have.

Seeing all the pieces I have has made me decide to wear a few of them this year. So, you may be seeing them again soon on an outfit of the day.

For those of you who celebrate Thanksgiving, I wish you a very happy day.

  2. Amazing collection! I love them all. the crown is great. I just call them "Pins" to myself, and try to remember the fancier terms used these days. Thanks for taking the trouble to photograph them for us.

  4. Wow, what a wonderful collection of brooches! I have quite a few myself, but tend mostly to wear them on my coats, so they don't show up on my blog too often.

  8. I'm partial to the blue/sapphire ones.

It is a little distressing when ones you bought yourself turn into vintage!

  19. You have a spectacular collection!!! Wow. I rarely wear "pins", but brooches sounds so much better and romantic. I am totally inspired to try incorporating some soon. I've got maybe three but will be on the lookout for some more. Can't wait to see you how wear them. These look like they'd be fun to wear in clusters, kind of like Amber does. xxoo

  22. Yes, we need to see these much more often! You have some real beauties that need to see the light of day.

I missed the memo to post the brooches, but I've been caught up with other things for a bit. But your post is a reminder that I should make some effort to boost my paltry collection. About half of which once belonged to my M-I-L.

  27. Debbi, I love pins but I don't wear them enough. My eye immediately goes to a person wearing one and i think, why didn't I just take the time to put one of my many brooches on? Great collection, now wear them or group similar ones and wear 3. dawn suitcase vignettes xo p.s. I am granting you the sunshine award. do not feel obligated..xoxo
